God’s Work. Our Hands.

There are many ways to serve at RELC. Click the links below to learn how God is calling us to serve.

The Music Ministry is focused on serving in worship and praising God through music. In doing so, we nourish the musical abilities of our congregation, including singers and instrumentalists of all levels. We also bring the joys of music to people and places outside our regular worship schedule, including weddings, funerals, and visits in the community.

Practices: Wednesdays, 7-8:30 PM August through May
Worship: Choir sings at worship services and a variety of special occasions both in and outside the church. New members welcome! Anyone who is interested in making music and serving in worship has a place in the RELC music ministry, regardless of skill level. Musicians are always welcome to share their talents during worship and for special events.

Media Ministry is an integral part of our worship; whether it is sound, visual arts or technical support!
Our worship services are projected using a PowerPoint presentation.

This is a ministry that facilitates the flow of the service and ensures all are able to see and hear the Word. This team welcomes those interested in service through media production.

On the second Sunday of each month, a team of RELC volunteers prepares and serves breakfast to those living in the area of First English Lutheran Church. This free meal is offered every Sunday to homeless, poor, and often food-insecure citizens in downtown Columbus, OH, and is paid for and served by a different partner congregation each week.

To ensure that all students acquire a love of reading and are reading at or above their grade level at the end of the school year, RELC volunteers tutor at-risk first and second grade students at Hilliard Crossing Elementary School, in the Hilliard City School District. Students are paired with a single tutor, and both the volunteers and the students find the work together rewarding.

Lovingly stitched by this dedicated team, prayer shawls are continually being made to give to people going through tough times, to give comfort, peace, assurance, and a prayer that they are…anywhere, anytime, any place…loved by us and by God.

This team also takes on special projects such as baptismal shawls, wedding shawls, prayer patches for Operation Christmas Child boxes, and afghans to be raffled for the Youth Mission trip

Meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month at 10:00 am and the first Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm

In partnership with Samaritan’s Purse, the members of RELC gather shoe boxes, wrapping paper, packing, and a variety of items to fill the boxes, as well as provide prayers for those who will receive these gifts. With loving care, members pack the boxes to spread the love of Jesus to children all over the world who live in difficult situations and do not know about God’s love.

Items are collected all year long:

small toys and games     toothbrushes    socks     sandals  coloring books  crayons    hats   flip flops small notebooks            color pencils    sunglasses   Ivory soap
